Introduction

The purpose of this research is to study the effects of therapies given with the intention of cure such as a bone marrow transplant have on the functioning of certain organs in subjects with sickle cell disease (SCD). We know that patients with SCD may have problems with their heart, brain, kidneys, liver, and lungs as they age. We are looking to see how transplant affects this process. We do have evidence that brain function may improve after transplant and in this study, we are looking more closely into how and why this happens. We will also look to see who may be most at risk for problems after a bone marrow transplant. This will help us to identify those that are most likely to benefit and how to make it safer.

During this portion of the study you will be asked to complete a background information form that will help us understand your background related to your brain function.

To get started:

  • Navigate through the menu to learn more about the study.
  • Log in to the application and fill out questionnaires.
